I see the spiritual world as reality, and the physical world as myth. August 24, 2010

From Eternally Inspiring Recollections of Our Holy Mother, volume 7.

From Kay McHugh.

We were in Brompton Square in the early 1980’s, and Shri Mataji said, about reality, ‘You see the glass from one side, and I see it from the other.’ In other words, She said that we see the material world as reality and the spiritual world as myth, but for Her, ‘I see the spiritual world as reality, and the physical world as myth.’ (I cannot quite remember, thirty years later, whether She used the word myth, or some simile)

She also said, in Her bedroom, to a group of us, ‘You must keep saying to yourself, I am the spirit, I am the spirit’. I have to keep saying to Myself, ‘I am a human being, I am a human being.’ And of course we all laughed.

Is that most sufferings coming from seeing the physical world as reality and neglecting the spiritual part ?
But, what does “spiritual” really mean ? Be a compassionate person ?
    Believing in God ?
Please forgive my foolishness. I keenly seek the way out of my mess.
