Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi – God and Self-realization September 13, 2008

“What I want to achieve — What I have been striving and pining to achieve these thirty years – is self-realization, to see God face to face, to attain Moksha. I live and move and have my being in pursuit of this goal.

The term ‘religion’ I am using in its broadest sense, meaning thereby self-realization or knowledge of self.

God cannot be realized through the intellect. Intellect can lead one to a certain extent and no further. It is a matter of faith and experience derived from faith. One might rely on the experience of one’s betters or else be satisfied with nothing less than personal experience.”
