SELF – CONFIDENCE April 11, 2008
|
The word ‘Self – Confidence’ has got a great meaning. When we say lack of ‘Self – Confidence’, it means lack of understanding one’s own Self. And why do we fail to do that is because we don’t know how much power each individual has within himself. |
|
Following is an attempt to understand our real inner -self and how understanding of that helps us build up the Self – Confidence and thus become a Fearless person. |
|
The lack of Self – Confidence within a person implies some obstruction on the 4th Centre ( Anahata / Heart Chakra ). After Self – Realization, when this Heart chakra is enlightened, divine vibrations start flowing through this chakra. |
|
These divine vibrations make you feel strong and make you confident of taking the right decisions. You can take the right decisions because of the wisdom that developes within you with the enlightenment of the 1st Centre ( Mooladhara Chakra ). |

CHILDREN SUFFER FROM STRESSED PARENTS March 20, 2008

|
Children whose parents and families are under ongoing stress have more fevers with illness than other children. Published this month in the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, the study also shows the unanticipated conclusion that children’s natural killer cell function, part of the body’s innate immune system, increases under chronic stress, unlike adults, whose function is decreased. |

| The word ‘Stress’ has a lot of reasons behind it. When a person says he is stressed out, he means he cannot keep a proper state of mind, rather it is difficult to keep a balanced state of mind. |
| So, whenever I feel stressed out after the day’s work, I come home and sit down for meditation. After meditation, I feel very very fresh and feel all the strain of the whole day go way, so much that I feel am ready for any other task now |
| Our subtle system is closely linked to our nervous system, which it keeps in balance. Indeed, we can detect the subtle system functioning within us due to the presence of a cool breeze, a prickling sensation or sometimes heat on particular parts of our hands or on top of our heads. Only the Kundalini has the power to awaken the subtle system, which can actually be felt on your hands. |
| Thus, once this mechanism is awakened and gradually mastered by practicing Sahaja Yoga, it becomes a marvelous instrument in developing the personality which we so look forward to becoming, and thus handle stress and become a very balanced person. |

WHAT IS EVOLUTION? March 14, 2008

|
There is a big diversity between perceptions of animals and human beings. |
| If there is a flower the bee can sense only the aroma, the human being can sense the aroma and the beauty of the flower. |
| The enlightened soul can sense the aroma, the beauty and the vibrations/energy/ of the flower. |
| I think that this we can call it EVOLUTION. |
The essence of YOGA March 13, 2008

|
“Through study let one practise yoga. Through yoga let one concentrate on study. By perfection in study and in yoga the Supreme Soul shines forth clearly.” (Vyasa) |
| The most famous book as far as yoga is concern is Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. |
| Patanjali set down his most famous words: “yogash chitta-vritti-nirodhah, “Yoga is the restraint of the modifications of the mind.” |
| For Patanjali, all these identifiable elements–thoughts, feelings, intentions, motives and desires (conscious and unconscious)–are chittavrittis, mental modifications which must be seen as hindrances to contemplative calm. |
| Can we say that we are in full control of our thoughts? |
| NO! |
| WHY? |
| Does it mean that our mind it is out of control? |
| The easiest way so far to control our thoughts is awakening of Kundalini. |
| When the Kundalini rises, these thoughts elongate. There is a space, very small, between the thoughts (vilamba), which spread out, and a state of complete silence is created. Then, we are in the present, but without thoughts, without any worry, without any anger and we stand in the present, which is the reality, and the past is no more and the future does not exist. |

How to Search for God March 11, 2008

|
To pitch darkness they go who worship the Unmanifested (Prakriti). To a greater darkness than this go those who are devoted to the Manifested (Hiranyagarbha). – Isa Upanishad |
| The ancient Indian saints and sages were most advanced in their spiritual pursuit. They composed voluminous texts named ‘Vedas‘ in order to describe their spiritual findings and realizations. The cream of Indian spiritualism is found in the Upanishads, which are the last volumes of Vedas. It is believed that Vedas were composed from 1500 BC onwards and Upanishads were composed from 700 BC onwards. Upanishads are not only for Hindus, but for the whole of mankind. |
| Out of eleven principal Upanishads, it is accepted that Isha Upanishad is the oldest of all. Let us see what this Upanishad describes in order to search for God. |
| God resides in living beings. Isha Upanishad begins by describing that whatever living beings inhabit the world here, God resides in all of them. There are two things in the world — on one hand is life and consciousness and on the other, inert matter. God does not reside in the inert and unconscious matter or material world. The material world appears to exist for God or a divine truth exists. But God resides in the living beings in the form of life and consciousness. The essence of a being is its life and consciousness. The source of life and consciousness in living beings is called self, soul or Atman. At death when Atman departs from the body, it remains behind as dead matter. Nothing can give new lease of life. So Atman is everything of a being and the home of God is Atman. |
| A self-slayer is one who does not realize Atman. Isha Upanishad describes self-slayers as those who do not try to realize Atman as the home of God. As a consequence after their death, they enter into a world of blind darkness. So without spending time, men should try to realize God within. |
| Turn away mind from outside. The consciousness of Atman is expressed and felt in the mind. The nature of mind is to move fast. Sometimes it moves, sometimes it is static; sometimes it is far away, sometimes it is very close. This mind is the heart of all. So in order to realize Atman, one has to turn away one’s mind from the outside world and concentrate it on Atman. |
| All souls are one. One who sees all beings in oneself and oneself in other beings comes to know everything. Nothing remains undisclosed for him. He becomes omniscient. All souls are one and the same. One should not see differences between beings or between self and God. |
| Strike a balance between spiritualism and materialism – Isha Upanishad describes that those who worship false-knowledge (avidya) enter into darkness. In spiritual language, knowledge (vidya) means know-how about things which exist. In the world, only life and consciousness exist. So knowledge means know-how about life, consciousness, soul and God. Conversely false-knowledge is the know-how about things which do not exist. Material world and worldly objects in reality do not exist. Knowledge indicates spiritualism, and false-knowledge indicates material science. |
| Upanishad further describes that by knowing the futility of false-knowledge, you can overcomes death, and by realizing knowledge, you get immortality. Death is equal to matter. So by turning away from the material world, you overcome death and get immortality. Since you have material body, you cannot turn away from the material world completely. So you have to strike a balance between the material world and life or between science and spiritualism. Progress on science and spiritualism should go hand in hand. Otherwise civilization shall be destroyed. |

RUAH- Divine breath March 10, 2008

| The many meanings of the Hebrew term ruah, used in the Bible to designate the Spirit, seem to give rise to some confusion. Indeed. in a given text, it is often not possible to determine the exact meaning of the word. One might waver between wind and breath, between breath and spirit, or between created spirit and the divine Spirit. |
| This multiplicity however has a certain wealth, for it establishes a fruitful communication between so many realities. In this regard it is better to give up in part the pretences of neat reasoning in order to embrace broader perspectives. When we think of the Holy Spirit, it is useful to remember that his biblica1 name means “breath”, and that it is related to the powerful blowing of the wind and to our own intimate breathing |
| Rather than clinging to an over-intellectual and arid concept, we will find it helpful to take in this wealth of images and facts. Translations unfortunately are unable to convey them to us completely, for they are often obliged to choose other terms. To render the Hebrew word ruah, the Greek translation of the Septuagint uses twenty-four different terms and so does not permit one to see all the connections between the texts of the Hebrew Bible. |
| To end this terminological analysis of the Old Testament texts concerning ruah, we can say that the breath of God appears in them as the power that gives life to creatures. It appears as a profound reality of God which works deep within man. It appears as a manifestation of God’s dynamism which is communicated to creatures |
| Please find below clarification from Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi |
| “The Self is the Spirit. This Spirit resides in the heart of every human being and is in a witness-like state. The Spirit is the projection of God Almighty, while the Kundalini is the projection of the power of God, of His desire which is the Primordial Mother, or you can call it Adi Shakti, Holy Ghost or Athena. |
| So the Kundalini is the projection of the Holy Ghost, while the Spirit is the projection of God Almighty. The All-pervading Power of love is the power of the Primordial Mother, which creates and evolves, and does all the living work.” |
