How Does an Earthquake Shake? November 6, 2009

How Does an Earthquake Shake? (132,19-133, 21)

(p.305) Judas answered and said, “Tell me, master, how does an [earthquake] shake when it shakes the earth?”

The master picked up a stone and held it in his hand. [He said to him, "What] am I holding in my hand?”

He answered, “[It is] a stone.”

He said to them, “What supports the [earth] is also what supports heaven. When a word comes from the Majesty, it will go to what supports heaven and earth. The earth does not move. If it moved, it would collapse. But it does not, so that the first word might not fail. The word established the world and dwelled in it and smelled the fragrance from it. [47] I make known to you, all you children of humanity, all [the things] that do not move, for you are from that place. You live in the hearts of those who speak out in joy and truth. If the word comes from the Father’s body, among people, and they do not receive it, it will return back to its place.”

[47] It is also possible to translate this sentence as follows: “The word established the world, and the world came to be through the word, and the world received fragrance from the word.” The Coptic text employs ambiguous pronouns throughout the sentence.

What did Jesus look like? September 25, 2009

Couple of months ago I was in Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, Paris.

I was told that according Shri Mataji, the founder of Sahaja yoga this is the most realistic picture of Jesus.

When we talk with GOD our face will shine August 11, 2009

Exodus 34:29-35

The Shining Face of Moses

29 Moses came down from Mount Sinai. As he came down from the mountain with the two tablets of the covenant* in his hand, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. 30When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, the skin of his face was shining, and they were afraid to come near him. 31But Moses called to them; and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses spoke with them. 32Afterwards all the Israelites came near, and he gave them in commandment all that the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. 33When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face; 34but whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would take the veil off, until he came out; and when he came out, and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, 35the Israelites would see the face of Moses, that the skin of his face was shining; and Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him

The Holy Spirit is the Mother of Jesus July 22, 2009

Holy Spirit

According “The Gospel to the Hebrews” mother Mary is The Holy Spirit:

“Origen on John, ii. 12. And if any accept the Gospel according to the Hebrews, where the Saviour himself saith, ‘Even now did my mother the Holy Spirit take me by one of mine hairs, and carried me away unto the great mountain Thabor’, he will be perplexed, &c. . . .”

“On Jeremiah, homily xv.4. And if anyone receive that saying, ‘Even now my mother the Holy Spirit took me and carried me up unto the great mountain Thabor’, and the rest. . . .”

“On Isa. xi. 9, My mother the Holy Spirit.”

“On Ezek. xvi.13. My mother, the Holy Spirit.”

The Mythmaker: Paul and the Invention of Christianity”
by Hyam Maccoby

1 Paul was never a Pharisee rabbi…

2 Jesus and his immediate followers were Pharisees.

3 The first followers of Jesus, under James and Peter, founded the Jerusalem Church after Jesus’s death.

4 Paul, not Jesus, was the founder of Christianity

5 A source of information about Paul that has never been taken seriously enough is a group called the Ebionites.

6 The Ebionites were stigmatized by the Church as heretics

Feminine Gender of the Holy Spirit April 9, 2009

In the most ancient of the rare Old Syriac copies, the Siniatic Palimpsest, from the 4th or 5th century, found in the Covenant of St. Catherine in the Sinia by Mrs. Anes Lewis and transcribed by Syriac Professor R.L. Bensly of Cambridge University in 1892, the words of Jesus in John 14:26 read:

“But She—the Spirit-the Paraclete whom He will send to you-my Father-in my name—She will teach you everything; She will remind you of that which I have told you.”
