Purification of Swadhistana chakra May 24, 2008

From couple of months my attention was to find relations between different asanas and chakras.

Couple of days ago I start my meditation with couple of minutes in Padmasana (Lotus Pose) and after I remain in  Siddhasana.

My personal feeling was very quick purification of Swadhistana chakra, specially the right side.

During this exercise, please use your vibratory awareness and discrimination.

Good luck.

EVIL DOES NOT EXIST April 14, 2008

This has a thought provoking message no matter how you believe. Does evil exist?

The university professor challenged his students with this question. Did God create everything that exists?
A student bravely replied yes, he did!”
“God created everything?” The professor asked.
“Yes, sir,” the student replied.

The professor answered, “If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are then God is evil.”
The student became quiet before such an answer.

The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.

Another student raised his hand and said, “Can I ask you a question professor?” “Of course”, replied the professor. The student stood up and asked, “Professor, does cold exist?”

“What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?” The students snickered at the young man’s question.

The young man replied, “In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Everybody and every object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (- 460 degrees F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have too little heat.

The student continued. “Professor, does darkness exist?”

The professor responded, “Of course it does”.

The student replied, “Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton’s prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn’t this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present.”

Finally the young man asked the professor. “Sir, does evil exist?”

Now uncertain, the professor responded, “Of course as I have already said. We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man’s inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. “These manifestations are nothing else but evil.”

To this the student replied, “Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love, that exist just as does light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God’s love present in his heart. It’s like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light.”

The professor sat down.

Some people claim that young man’s name was Albert Einstein

ROPE MISTAKEN FOR A SNAKE April 13, 2008

In our lives we can experience fear and worries a lot of times for various reasons. What is the reason for this?

Here is a beautiful explanation in Shankara’s  “Vivekachudamani”

“110. Maya can be destroyed by the realization of the pure Brahman, the one without a second, just as the mistaken idea of a snake is removed by the discrimination of the rope. She has her Gunas as Rajas, Tamas and Sattva, named after their respective functions.

138. One who is overpowered by ignorance mistakes a thing for what it is not; It is the absence of discrimination that causes one to mistake a snake for a rope, and great dangers overtake him when he seizes it through that wrong notion. Hence, listen, my friend, it is the mistaking of transitory things as real that constitutes bondage.”

As you can see the Maya( Illusion, Fear ) is coming to us because of lack of discrimination and  clarity.

Here is a gorgeous extract from Sri Guru Granth Sahib:

“In the darkness of Maya, I mistook the rope for the snake, but that is over, and now I dwell in the Eternal Home of the Lord (sggs 332). Like the story of the rope mistaken for a snake, the mystery has now been explained to me. Like the many bracelets, which I mistakenly thought were gold; now, I do not say what I said then (sggs 658).”

It is very easy to remove the darkness of Maya within us. We need to bring the Light in ourselves by awakening of Kundalini.

Antari giyan na aayio mirtak hai sansaar: Those within whom the Knowledge is not awakened are like dead bodies in the world (sggs 88).”

Aatam cheenai su tatt beechaarae: One who understands his own Soul, contemplates the essence of Reality (sggs 224).

Chet suchet chit hoyi rahu tayu lai pargaas ujaaraa: When you are conscious in your Consciousness, you will be enlightened and illuminated (sggs 339).

Iyu kahe Nanak man tu jot saroop hai apnaa mool pashaan: Thus says Nanak: O my mind, you are That — the true image of the Divine Light — know your Reality (sggs 441).

MOOLADHARA CHAKRA April 12, 2008

The first center is called the Mooladhara center. It has four petals (sub-plexuses), is placed below the triangular bone, and is responsible on the physical level of the manifestation of the pelvic plexus which looks after all our excretion, inclusive of sex activity.

When the Kundalini rises, then this center becomes inactive in the excretion functions but active in the support of the rising of the Kundalini. Though the Kundalini has to rise through six centers, the first center of Mooladhara protects the purity of chastity of the Kundalini at the time of its awakening” - H.H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

SELF - CONFIDENCE April 11, 2008

The word ‘Self - Confidence’ has got a great meaning. When we say lack of ‘Self - Confidence’, it means lack of understanding one’s own Self. And why do we fail to do that is because we don’t know how much power each individual has within himself.

Following is an attempt to understand our real inner -self and how understanding of that helps us build up the Self - Confidence and thus become a Fearless person.

The lack of Self - Confidence within a person implies some obstruction on the 4th Centre ( Anahata / Heart Chakra ). After Self - Realization, when this Heart chakra is enlightened, divine vibrations start flowing through this chakra.

These divine vibrations make you feel strong and make you confident of taking the right decisions. You can take the right decisions because of the wisdom that developes within you with the enlightenment of the 1st Centre ( Mooladhara Chakra ).

GOD CAN BE KNOWN April 10, 2008

You don’t have to believe in God in order to experience God.
— Deepak Chopra - Ageless Body, Timeless Mind and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

According to Chopra, the brain is hardwired to know God. The human nervous system has seven biological responses that correspond to seven levels of divine experience. These are shaped not by any one religion (they are shared by all faiths), but by the brain’s need to take an infinite, chaotic universe and find meaning in it.

How to Know God describes the quest each of us is on, whether we realize it or not. For, as Chopra puts it, “God is our highest instinct to know ourselves.” This book makes a dramatic and enduring contribution to that knowledge.

Quote from Chapter One

“One bald fact stands at the beginning of any search for God. He leaves no footprints in the material world. From the very beginning of religion in the West, it was obvious that God had some kind of presence, known in Hebrew as Shekhinah. Sometimes this word is simply translated as “light” or radiance. Shekhinah formed the halos around angels and the luminous joy in the face of a saint.

It was feminine, even though God, as interpreted in the Judeo-Christian tradition, is masculine. The significant fact about Shekhinah was not its gender, however. Since God is infinite, calling the deity He or She is just a human convention.( *) Much more important was the notion that if God has a presence, that means he can be experienced.

He can be known. This is a huge point, because in every other way God is understood to be invisible and untouchable. And unless some small part of God touches the material world, he will remain inaccessible forever.”

* A note on gender: Finding a pronoun for God is not easy. In keeping with common tradition, this book uses he. But surely God transcends all gender. I could have rotated three different pronouns–he, she, and it–but that would not have gotten any nearer to the truth, and it would have made for very clumsy reading.

WHAT ARE CHAKRAS? April 2, 2008

sutle-system1.jpg

Science has proven that each cell in our bodies gives off small electromagnetic radio waves, almost imperceptible to all but the most sensitive of equipment. Our body as a whole unifies a complex array of these cells into a living, breathing and thinking organism that is a miracle of nature.

With this is mind, it isn’t much of a leap to consider that these cells, working in tandem, may be capable of something far more advanced than we are aware of. We already know that the heart, lungs and brain are capable of performing unbelievable feats on a daily basis. This is just one example of cells working together towards a common goal.
Many religious texts refer to energy centers distributed throughout different regions of the human body. Often they are nearby major organs or nerve centers in our spine. These energy centers are often referred to as Chakra, a word descended from the Sanskrit word meaning wheel or disc.
Chakras are spinning vortexes of energy and light that greatly affect our well-being, whether we are aware of them or not. It is generally agreed that there are seven major chakras distributed throughout the human body. There are also many more minor energy points known as meridians which play a slightly less important role in your well-being.

HOW CHRIST WAS DESCRIBED IN “THE S’RIMAD DEVΠBHÂGAWATAM” March 22, 2008

mahavishnu.jpg

The S’rîmad Devî Bhâgawatam describing Christ as “Mahâ-Visnu”.

“The egg (born of Mûla Prakriti) that was floating in the waters for a period equal to the life period of Brahmâ, now in the fullness of time separated into two parts. Within that egg there was a powerful Child, lustrous like one thousand millions of suns.
This child could not suck mother’s milk, as it was forsaken by Her. So being tired of hunger, the child for a moment cried repeatedly. The child that will become the Lord of countless Brahmândas (universes), now an orphan having no father nor mother began to look upwards from the waters.
This boy came to be denominated afterwards by the name of Mahâ Virât, when he became gross and grosser. As there is nothing finer than radium so there is nothing grosser than Mahâ Virât. The power of this Mahâ Virât is one-sixteenth of that of S’ri Krisna, the Highest Self.
But this boy, (born of the Prakriti Râdhâ) is the Sole Stay of all this Universe and he is denominated by the name “Mahâ-Visnu”. In his every pore countless universes are existing. So much so that even S’ri Krisna could not count them”. - THE NINTH BOOK, Chapter III

HOW I FEEL AFTER THE KUNDALINI IS RAISED? March 21, 2008

child.jpg

After the initial raising of the Kundalini (self realization) you may feel many things.
You will likely feel some tingling or numbness on the fingertips.  As the Kundalini rises
it informs you through your central nervous system if there are any blockages on
your chakras.  See the section on Chakras to find out more information on the
chakras.

It can be felt as a cool breeze in the palm of your hands or you may feel a slight
coolness at the top of your head.  It also starts a flow of divine grace inside us.  For
the first time we can feel the presence of the divine. It purifies the attention of the
person and establishes this awareness in the state of meditation.  You may also feel
some heat - this is the Kundalini cleaning some obstructions on your chakras - it is
not painful at all.
The Kundalini knows everything about you.  Whatever chakra she touches, she
knows what is wrong with that chakra before hand and she adjusts herself fully so
that you do not get a problem by the awakening.  If any chakra is constricted, she
waits and goes on slowly opening that chakra.

HOW KUNDALINI WORKS? March 19, 2008

water.jpg

The Kundalini is like a tape recorder.  It knows everything about you - all your problems, all your thoughts.  It’s been with you for all your previous lives and has an unconditional love for you.  It wants to help you connect with the all pervading power of God’s love.  This is possible only through Kundalini awakening (self-realization). The Kundalini can be understood as consisting of many strands of energy.

The more we meditate, the more strands rise and the stronger our chakras and central channel becomes.  When we meditate and become thoughtless our Kundalini rises and begins to clear any blockages we may have on our chakras.  The Kundalini knows exactly which of our chakras are blocked and informs us through our central nervous system on our fingertips which of our chakras are blocked.
Each of our fingertips corresponds to a particular chakra.  If any chakra is blocked, the Kundalini works on that chakra until the chakra is cleaned and then rises until it reaches and crosses through the Sahasrara.  This is when yoga is achieved and we unite with the all pervading power of God’s love.
